Boy do I have one fun weekend ahead of me.

It seems when I get back from a trans-Atlantic trip I do some heavy purchasing. Last time was my iPod Nano. This time was… well at first a much much needed vacuum cleaner. Two years in a flat with no vac is starting to show (I had a dustbuster on a stick type thing, but it sucked and not in the literal sense). So yeah, that’s all cool and green and sucky.

Next on the list, after much personal debate and high recommendations was one of the new Nintendo DS Lite systems and the New(!) Super Mario Bros. Pat got a sweet deal, and in a moment of genius realized I could too. He sent me a copy of the Toys R Us flyer to bring into FutureShop to have them price check it up. If they go for it, I would get the DS for $149.99 and Mario Bros. for $5. Took the flyer into FS tonight after finally deciding to go for it. They accepted my somewhat blurry (could have been Photoshopped, but wasn’t, honest) flyer and said no problem.

The New Mario Bros. is indeed quite awesome, even if the controls are a bit on the floaty side. The mini-games are like having a bonus Warioware-esque cartridge. I’ve only played the actual game through to World 2 and played some of the mini games and I’m already quite impressed with both the game and the system.
